  1. Thank you for the article. How do u address the current situation in urban areas. Whereby urban small scale vegetable agriculture takes place. These vegetables are sometimes being watered (irrigated) with industrial waste water example from textile industries that contains harmful heavy materials which are said to be carcinogenic. These heavy metals bioaccumulate in the vegetables we eat everyday. Research has been conducted and it indicated presence of these carcinogenic heavy metals in vegetables. Different media had published. And its a challenge because some people are even resilient to eating vegetables. Unless they are sure where they are from.

    1. Ahsante sana kwa mchango wako ndugu Nuntwale. Ndio, Kuna Hilo jambo la watu kumwagilia mboga za majani na maji ambayo huwa ni majitaka kutoka kiwandani ambalo lipo hasa kwa sehemu za mijini. Ambalo kunakuwa na hatari ya binadamu kupata kemikali hizo pale atapotumia mboga hizo. Jambo ambalo kwa wale waishio mijini wanaweza kufanya ni pamoja na kupanda mboga mboga katika makopo na kuepukana na kumwagilia mboga hizo na maji taka kutoka kiwandani pamoja na kushinda kikwazo cha eneo kwa pamoja. Pia ni vyema ukawa na kitalu chako kidogo cha mboga mboga za majani mahala unapoishi, ili uwe na uhakika zaidi wa namna mboga zako zilivyomea. Kuliko kununua mboga za sokoni ambazo kwa kiasi kikubwa hutokana na maji hayo ya viwandani, hasa kwa wale waishio mijini.
